How to Permanently Deactivate A Facebook Account

Facebook has 2 means to disable your account. One is reversible and also the other is irreversible.

You can shut off an account and then later reactivate it. While it's shut down, individuals can't see your timeline or search for you, though some information, such as messages you sent, may still be visible.

If you erase your account, it's gone forever and can not be reactivated. Facebook claims that they "delay removal a couple of days after it's requested" which a deletion demand is terminated if you log back into your account during that duration. They better say that it can occupy to 90 days to remove data saved in backup systems.
